CLASSES - TWO FOR ONE THREADPLAY
Bring two
fat quarters (or equivalent scraps), decorative threads, and trims and go home
with at least two terrific small scale quilts. Spend a fun day
doodling, cutting, fusing and stitching. You’ll amaze yourself and
learn a lot, too!
SUPPLY LIST
___Sewing machine in good working order, along with manual, power
cord, bed and foot pedal
___Extra bobbin case and bobbins (for bobbin drawing, if desired)
___Open Toe Embroidery foot
___Free-motion foot
___Multi-plug and long extension cord
___Scissors
___pencil
___Medium- to heavyweight tearaway stabilizer. I like Stable Stuff by Ricky
Tims, Cotton Fix or Cotton Stable by Madeira, or Rinsaway washaway by HTCW
___1/2 yd fusible web, such as Wonder Under by Pellon or Steam-A-Seam
___at least two 14” squares of cotton batting (more if you are
ambitious!)
___505 temporary spray adhesive
___small bottle of Roxane’s Glue-Baste-It (available from Colonial
Needle or distributors)
MINIMUM FABRICS:
___two fat quarters that play well together, but have some
contrast. You can also bring the equivalent in scraps, but make sure
they are at least
14” square.
NEEDLES:
___#90 Topstitch
___#75 Quilting or #70 Microtex or Jeans/Denim
THREADS:
___any decorative threads you want to use, including thicker bobbin
threads
___The Bottom Line or similar fine bobbin thread (do not get Sulky Bobbin
Lite)
___polyester monofilament
___yarns or trims for couching
OPTIONAL:
___Threadplay with Libby Lehman
___cushion for chair
___sheer fabrics for embellishment (fun but not mandatory)
___Circular Embroidery Attachment for your machine
___Couching foot (especially free-motion)
___any embellishments that tickle your fancy
CLASSROOM REQUIREMENTS: Bernina for Instructor, 3 to 4 irons and boards, large
screen or white wall for projection (Instructor will bring digital projector
and computer)
