CLASS DESCRIPTION - THREADPLAY
4 or 5-Day workshop
Go beyond learning the basics and tricks of machine embroidery to create
special effects on your quilts or wearables. We will begin with Libby
demonstrating such techniques such as sheer ribbon illusions, thread
painting, potluck reverse machine applique, bobbin drawing, using sheer fabrics and fusible
webs. Students will then use the techniques that intrigue them to create samples or a small wall quilt.
Each student must have a zigzag sewing machine with an adjustable bobbin
case. I am by no means a mechanic, so please come to class with a clean
machine in good working order. Also needed: a total of 2-3 irons and
ironing boards.
