THREADPLAY SAMPLER

Threadplay Sampler Threadplay Sampler
Learn a multitude of machine techniques while you make a beautiful sampler wall quilt. Techniques include easy chain piecing, crazy strips, mitering borders, reverse and top appliqué, thread painting, bobbin drawing and bobbin quilting, decorative and satin stitching, free-motion quilting, binding and couching. Whew!

SUPPLY LIST:

Fabrics:

___Fabric 1- six 2 ½” squares, two 3 ½” sq
___Fabric 2- five 2 ½” sq, two 3 ½” sq
___Fabric 3- four 2 ½” sq, two 3 ½” sq
___Fabric 4- four 2 ½” sq, two 3 ½” sq
___Fabric 5- one 2x22” strip,
two 2 ¼”x44” strips (for binding)

___Fabric 6- one 2x22” strip, two 3 ½” sq
___Fabric 7- one 2x22” strip
___Fabric 8- one 2x22” strip, two 3 ½” sq, one 6” sq
___Fabric 9- one 2x22” strip
___Fabric 10-one 2x22” str4ip, one 20” sq (for quilt back),
two 3x44” strips(for border)

Threads:

___40 weight decorative polyester in color of your choice (can be variegated)
___Thick thread, such as Razzle Dazzle, Glamour, or Candlelight (I used Razzle Dazzle)
___Bobbin/lingerie thread in a neutral color (I used the Bottom Line #617)

Sewing Machine:

___Zigzag machine with power cord, foot pedal, extension table and manual

Presser Feet:

___Open toe Embroidery , ¼” Patchwork, Free-motion

Needles:

___75/11 Quilting, #70/10jjeans/Denim, or #70/10 Microtex (you need one of these, not all)
___#90/14 or #80/12 Topstitch

Other:

___Four 2x6”strips freezer paper
___Two 6” sq of medium to heavyweight tearaway stabilizer (I like Stable Stuff by Ricky Tims or Cotton Fix or Cotton Stable by Madeira )
___8” wooden machine embroidery hoop
___505, HR5 or Sulky temporary spray adhesive
___pencil
___18” Plexiglas ruler
___rotary cutter and mat
___sharp pointed scissors
___20” sq of 100% cotton batting
___straight pins
